It's interesting how we self-censor ourselves, and this becomes worse, I think, as we go on.

I too try to hide my secretive nature, when I'm not using it as a weapon - but in real life more than in writing. In the best sex blog writing, I believe, there is always a degree of introspection behind the simplest description of the simplest act. There must be, because unless it is purely our aim to arouse with salacity, in attempting to describe it we also inevitable analyse our own reactions. Writing without layers is as dull as people without them, but there is an element of control in being able to peel them back ourselves that is invaluable.

We write about when we are most vulnerable in an attempt to make ourselves invulnerable,

"I want to convey the truth, but not any particular truth." I like that. It would make a good tag line for a blog.

The mirrors in your bathroom sound useful but disconcerting. I'm always trying to catch myself by surprise (in life, in writing, whatever), but I suspect I'd be disturbed if I ever managed it.
